In an Antwerp apartment, a woman lies dead, while at a nearby fashion show, a suicide bomber detonates his device. During a raid on a small-time drug dealer in Ireland, Detective Emer Berry, from the Criminal Assets Bureau, discovers rough diamonds and the deed to the luxury Antwerp flat. To investigate further, Emer travels to Belgium and is met by Chief Inspector Christian de Jong from the anti-terrorism squad. Reluctantly, they join forces to unravel an international conspiracy entailing drugs, terrorism, and corrupt corporate and political figures.
The dead woman's employer, heiress Bibi Melnick, and the wealthy Irish business dynasty, the Brannigans, find themselves entangled in the web of greed. Emer, Christian, and the CAB team find themselves engaging in a battle of wits with the Brannigans, as they must trace the money to prevent another terrorist attack before it's too late.
